Pastors Kendall L & LaYona Washington

Pastor Kendall L. Washington Sr. was born on October 29th in Lewisville, Arkansas. His parents, Pastor Imond and Joyce Washington raised him in a God fearing home in Lafayette County. He is the eldest of four children. He received his childhood education through the Lewisville School System. He later attended University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he earned a BA degree in Early Childhood Education. Pastor Washington married LaYona Hardamon, June 5, 1981. Pastor Washington is blessed with three biological children, Joey Lamar, Kendall Louis Jr., and LaKendra Annette and spiritual children, Therese L. Blake, and Twonda R. Benjamin and many more too numerous to name.

After receiving his college degree, Pastor Washington enlisted in the US Army. His first duty station was Fort Rucker, AL, with following assignments to Hunter Airfield, GA, Augsburg, GE, Washington, PA, Mannheim, GE, Fort Drum, NY, Taegu, Korea, Naples, Italy and currently stationed at Wiesbaden, GE. He’s had numerous deployments, with the major ones being, at present, Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Gulf War and Bosnia.

Pastor Wanullshington has always had a love for the Lord and during his college years he ministered to youth throughout Arkansas with Fellowship for Christian Athletes. God had begun to show Pastor Washington the greater call and purpose for his life. Before being deployed to Bosnia Pastor Washington was ordained Deacon at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Mannheim, GE, under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Lee. During his deployment to Bosnia, Pastor Washington further surrendered his will to the Lord’s will and accepted the even greater call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was licensed Minister at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Mannheim, GE, under the leadership of Pastor Walter E. Smith. Pastor Washington was ordained Elder at Prayer Tower Church of Deliverance, Watertown, NY, under the leadership of Pastor Valerie E. Perry. Pastor Washington later received Elder and Pastoral licenses under the covering of Holy Deliverance Church of God, Foundation of the Truth, Inc. through the divine leadership of Apostle Bennie L. Kelly.

Pastor Washington continues to answer the call of God, as he is Senior Pastor of Faith Temple Christian Center International, Inc. Pastor Washington has held numerous positions in the body of Christ, Sunday School Superintendent, Choir President, Sunday School Teacher, Praise and Worship Chairperson and Assistant Pastor at 1215 Collective Protestant Gospel Service, Taegu, Korea, under the leadership of Bishop Nelson K. Williams. He served on the ministerial staff at Sure Foundation Ministries, Naples, Italy under the leadership of Pastor Joe M. Fears and currently shares the awesome responsibly as he pastors Faith Temple Christian Center International, Inc with his wife.In addition, because of his love for God and the family unit, Pastor Washington allows the Lord to use him to teach men and women their roles in the family and the body of Christ. His teaching has led him throughout the world, ministering at workshops and conferences. Pastor Washington has taught on various topics, such as, Marriage Enrichment and Real Men in Christ only to name a few. Pastor Washington does not take his love and work for the Lord for granted, but gives all he has to the up building of the body of Christ. His desire is to see God’s kingdom come here on earth and that we all may be partakers of His many blessing, not only individually, but corporately.

Pastor LaYona was greatly inspired by her grandmother, the late Myrtle Dokes’ love, trust and obedience to the Lord that led her to an early acceptance of Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Pastor LaYona answered the call to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ with a deep sincerity dedicated and compelled to go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Pastor LaYona was licensed as Minister at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Mannheim, GE, Walter E. Smith, Pastor, later ordained Evangelist at Prayer Tower Church of Deliverance, Watertown, NY, under the leadership of Pastor Valerie E. Perry. Pastor LaYona later received Evangelist, Elder and Pastoral license with Holy Deliverance Church of God, Foundation of the Truth, Inc., under the divine leadership of Apostle Bennie L. Kelly.

Pastor LaYona served on the ministerial staff and as the Outreach Chairperson, under the leadership of Bishop Nelson K. Williams, 1245 Gospel Service, Taegu, Korea. Pastor LaYona also served on the ministerial staff, Outreach Chairperson and Chairman of the Finance Committee under the leadership of Pastor Joe M. Fears, Sure Foundation Ministries, Naples, Italy. Pastor LaYona continues to surrender to the call of God to feed His sheep and she now serves as tag team Pastor with her husband at Faith Temple Christian Center International, Inc., in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Pastor LaYona definitely believes that faith without works is dead and is a vital contributor to the body of Christ, by allowing the Lord to use her many gifts to edify the Body and enhance the Kingdom of God. She has served in several ministries, to include, choir, hospitality, usher, praise and worship and outreach. Pastor LaYona has served in leadership positions such as Pastor’s Aide/Armor bearer, Finance Committee Chairperson, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Outreach Chairperson. Pastor LaYona has a special passion for women and marriage ministry. Her passion has allowed God to use her to teach women their place in the home, community and the church. She has been ministering in Women’s Retreats and workshops for several years, ranging in locations as far north as Connecticut and abroad as far south as Southern Italy. Pastor LaYona is excited and considers it to be a great honor to be apart of the Kingdom of God. She walks in assurance and peace as she sojourns on this side of heaven, knowing that her God will never leave nor forsake her and with a mighty God on her side, she can do all things through Christ which strengthens her.Pastor LaYona’s desire is to totally fulfill the purpose that God has ordained for her life and live a life that others may see Him in her, ultimately leaving a mark in the hearts of others that may never be erased.

Faith Temple Christian Center International, Inc. is under the leadership of Pastors Kendall L. Sr. and LaYona Washington. Pastors K & L Washington are no strangers to ministry. Pastors K & L have received great tutelage from anointed men and women of God throughout the world. Pastor K & L are humbled to have returned to Germany after serving two previous tours, but they believe God has definitely saved the best for last.

Faith Temple Christian Center International, Inc. is a part of Holy Deliverance Church of God Foundation of the Truth, Inc. where Apostle Bennie L. Kelly is the founder and our anointed Chief Overseer, and Bishop Nelson K. Williams, founder and Senior Pastor of Unity Christian Fellowship International, Inc. is appointed to handle all international churches.
